Privacy Policy
Last updated July 7, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information EverChat (“we,” “us”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the EverChat website and realtime chat service (the “Service”).
1. Information we collect
- Account information from Google. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture URL from your Google account. We use this to create and identify your account. We do not receive your Google password.
- Profile information. A display name, optional bio, optional link, and an avatar image if you upload one. Uploaded avatars are stored in our database and served back through the Service.
- Content you post. Messages, emoji reactions, edits, channels you join or create, and users you block.
- Presence and usage data. Transient signals such as which channels you are currently viewing and online status, used to power live presence. This is held temporarily in our realtime cache.
- Ad purchases. If you buy ad space, we store the ad content, its size, run length, and price. Payment card details are handled by our payment processor, not stored by us.
- Technical data. Standard server logs (such as IP address and request metadata) generated when you use the Service.
2. How we use your information
- to operate the Service — authenticate you, deliver messages in realtime, and show presence;
- to display your profile and content to other users as you direct;
- to process ad purchases and show purchased placements;
- to moderate content, enforce our Terms, and keep the Service safe;
- to maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
3. How your information is shared
Messages, reactions, profile details, and ads you post are visible to other users of the Service as part of how chat works. Beyond that, we share personal data only with:
- Service providers that run our infrastructure (hosting, database, and our payment processor for ad purchases), acting on our behalf under contract;
- Authorities where required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights and safety of users and the public.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Google user data
Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Google account data only to provide and improve the sign-in and profile features described above, and we do not transfer or use it for advertising, or for any purpose unrelated to the Service.
5. Cookies
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. It is essential to the operation of the Service. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
6. Data retention
We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. Presence data is transient and expires automatically. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal data, except where we must retain records to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.
7. Your rights and choices
- edit your profile and avatar at any time from your account;
- delete individual messages you have posted;
- block other users;
- request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing us.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. To exercise any right, contact us at support@ever.chat.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate.
